New domestic and international service offerings, using the greenest fleet in Greece.
SKY express reports that it has come through a year which began with the Covid-19 crisis and ended with the airline now operating a fleet of six Airbus A320neos – its first turbofan aircraft – which have been utilised to expand the carrier’s international network.
Further investment has followed at SKY express with the acquisition of six new ATR 72-600s, leaving the airline to claim it now has the greenest fleet in Greece and one of the most environmentally friendly anywhere in Europe.
The outcome of investments is that, as well as delivering a comprehensive domestic network, SKY express now flies to a range of international destinations such as Paris, London, Brussels, Larnaca and Rome. As well as these flights from Athens, the airline is now also operating an international route from Thessaloniki to Larnaca four times a week.
“All this marks a new era of aviation in our country,” according to a company spokesperson. “We have given more options to passengers with new connections and more itineraries. This has contributed to the fall in air fares for the benefit of passengers, created new jobs in an industry where employment was declining and supported the Greek economy, Greek tourism and the Greek islands with quality products and services.”
Examples of those products and services include the option of choosing fares between SKY joy, SKY joy+ and SKY enjoy, and entry to the lounges at Athens, Thessaloniki, Larnaca, Brussels, London, Paris, Rome and use of the Fast Lane at the respective airports.
The airline has also entered a new interline agreement with American Airlines, enabling bookings using a single ticket across the networks of both the carriers. The deal complements the existing interline agreements that SKY express has in place with Air Serbia, Qatar Airways, Air France, KLM, Middle East Airlines and Cyprus Airways.
