The Airport Agency, creator of the CONNECT Route Development Forum, is delighted to announce that CONNECT 2025 will take place in Girona, Spain, from 3rd to 5th February. The event will be hosted by the Government of Catalonia, the Diputació de Girona and the Chamber of Commerce of Girona.
Following February 2024’s record-setting 20th-edition CONNECT event in Turin, CONNECT 2025 in Girona is expected to bring together over 800 aviation industry decision-makers to discuss current and future air transport links.
The CONNECT forum continues to grow and to attract more participants from new countries and regions each year, confirming its status as one of the most important global route development events, and contributing to the ongoing recovery and development of the aviation industry.
“We are delighted to be hosting our next event in the charming city of Girona and would like to thank our hosts for their enthusiasm and engagement,” says Karin Butot, CEO of the Airport Agency, CONNECT creator and organizer. “This is a perfect match for CONNECT, which aims to combine exceptional business opportunities with a memorable and more personal experience. With a conference venue (Palau de Congressos de Girona) located in the very heart of the city, our delegates will enjoy an easy, hassle-free event and explore a true hidden gem.”
Northern Catalonia’s largest city, Girona is a jewellery box of museums, galleries and Gothic churches, strung around a web of cobbled lanes and medieval walls. Reflections of mansions shimmer in the Riu Onyar, which separates the walkable historic centre on its eastern bank from the gleaming commercial centre on the west.
With an unbeatable geographical location on the Costa Brava (between France, the Catalan Pyrenees, and Barcelona) and strong intermodal connectivity, Girona offers all the advantages of a larger city without its inconveniences. Historic, vibrant, it also boasts great culinary innovation and dynamism (one world famous 3-star Chef in Girona itself, 20 Michelin stars are spread across the Costa Brava, one of the Mediterranean’s premier gourmet food and wine tourism destinations). Forward looking and progressive, Girona is embracing sustainability with bespoke tourism products and strong environmental commitments which appeal to visitors’ evolving expectations.
“We are eager to welcome CONNECT and the route development community to Girona in 2025. Our visitors will discover a new renewed city that has become an international gateway of Catalonia. Flying to Girona means a more comfortable, sustainable and affordable option for airlines and passengers to come to Catalonia, and we’ll soon have a new high-speed train station at the airport that will link Girona airport to Barcelona and Europe, enlarging its catchment area”, agree the hosts of CONNECT 2025.
CONNECT’s agenda and timing are carefully designed around the needs and calendar preferences of network planners, and indeed 96% of CONNECT delegates endorse the early-February timing. The CONNECT 2025 team are looking forward to welcoming the network planning community to sunny Catalonia in early February 2025!
