Loganair adds a few ‘firsts’ as network expands

Bernie Baldwin

Loganair is again adding to its route network with six routes being introduced in 2020.

Among the firsts for the Scottish carrier are a direct service between Glasgow and Cardiff and another between Aberdeen and Haugesund. The latter route takes the airline’s number of Norwegian destinations up to three.

Aberdeen will also benefit from a direct flight to East Midlands and also with a service to Brussels via Newcastle on which the schedule is optimised to reduce journey times significantly when compared with current options. Newcastle itself will have new flights to Bergen and Guernsey, the latter being a summer seasonal service.

Loganair has introduced 19 routes to its schedule since the beginning of 2019, including some services that were previously operated by flybmi. This rapid growth has made the carrier the UK’s 5th largest by number of flights operated.

All of these new Loganair services will be operated by Embraer ERJ 145 or ERJ 135 jets.
