Fresh faces at Aarhus Airport

Bernie Baldwin

Introducing the airport’s new MD, head of passenger service and route development manager.

Taking the top position is Lotta Sandsgaard, who joins from Silkeborg Municipality where she was technical and environmental manager. She has also held leadership positions in Norddjurs Municipality as director of environment and culture and chief positions in the technical and environmental areas in both Norddjurs Municipality and Herning Municipality. Additionally, she is a trained commercial pilot and flight instructor.

“My passion for aviation will be a major driving force in my new role at Aarhus. But it is the managerial tools and the technical and environmental experience I bring with me that will contribute to further developing the culture at the airport and create a solid foundation for growth,” Sandsgaard remarks.

Mette Bræmer-Jensen will take over as head of the airport’s passenger service on 1 May 2023. She comes to the airport from a position as city manager in Randers, Denmark’s sixth-largest city.

Bræmer-Jensen will lead a team which includes 25 traffic assistants and five duty managers. In addition, she will play an active role in the airport’s commercial development, just as she will be a key figure in facilitating and cooperating with the airlines and tour operators that are established at Aarhus Airport.

Rune Hansen takes on the role of route development manager. He has moved from IATA in Geneva, where he worked for the past six years, including as manager for sustainability & environment. He has extensive knowledge of airline business models, fleets and route networks, as well as bringing a solid network and strong relationships with airlines and travel companies into the team.

Hansen chaired a fascinating panel on environmental matters at CONNECT 2020 in Antalya.
